Kefalari is 130km away from Athens and 130km away from Patras. The areas that are worth visiting as well as their distances from our pension are:
Kiato (25 Km). (Ancient Sikiona) Visit the beautiful beach of Kiato. At Ancient Sikiona you can visit the ancient theater and stadium along with the museum that houses the artifacts discovered at the region.
Small Titani (15 Km). The first residence of the Titans and particularly of the god Helios. Outside the Krioneri village there is an excellent forest in which you can see the monastery of Lechobas. The monastery was built in the 10th century AD.
Stimfalia (8 Km). The fabulous nest of "Stimfalion's hens". At the Stimfalia lake Hercules exterminated “Stimfalion's hens”. In the northern side of the lake there are the ruins of the Citadel of ancient Stimfalia.
Feneos (25 Km). A forest with a splendid roadway with incredible variety of trees. As soon as you reach the dam, you will enjoy the marvelous view of lake Doxa. This lake is one of the most beautiful in Greece.
Trikala Korinthias (20 km). This village is located in the hill side of Ziria (Killini) mountain, in an altitude of 900 meters. You can find many fir-forests around and very good tourist facilities. It consists of three settlements: Lower, Middle and Upper areas of Trikala.
Nemea (25 Km). This was a very famous region in antiquity. Hercules, according to mythology, realised one from his seven feats here, when he killed the horrible lion of Nemea. An archaeological site with one of the greatest ancient buildings, the temple of Zeus (4th century BC) exists here. The excavations, that are continued, brought into the light the ruins of public baths, fighting arena, a stadium and the foundations of other buildings.
Pefkias - region of Ksilokastro (30 Km). Peukias, “the green shore of homeland” as it is described in a great Kostas Kariotaki's poem. This place was the source of inspiration for the poet Aggellos Sikelianos whose marvelous house is still standing. Pefkias will always be one of the most beautiful places in the area.
