If you want to meet one of the most beautiful islands of the Aegean Sea, and live the unique experience of the Mediterranean colours and smells, you are welcome to Mirabelli studios and apartments at Pollonia village in Milos. With the genuine hospitality and the special cycladitic beauty of the landscape, Mirabelli studios promise you unforgettable summer vacations in Milos, either you ask for some relaxation, or you love exploration.
Pollonia is a beautiful, traditional port in northeastern Milos and an ideal place to start exploring the island. It is close to all important sights and will offer you authentic mediterranean tastes at its traditional taverns, relaxation at its beautiful beaches and great fun in the evening.
Setting off from Pollonia village and from the comfortable Mirabelli studios next to the sea, discover “Afrodites’ island” with the numerous sandy beaches and the long history. Moving west to Adamandas village you can visit beautiful beaches like the astonishing Papafraga, the sandy Pachaina beach and the unique rocky Sarakiniko, known as the “lunar landscape”. At the south of the island you can swim at beaches with lots of facilities, like Provata, sandy Firiplaka and Saint Kiraiki, which is located next to the volcano crater.
Departing from Adamandas, which is considered to be a safe port, able to accommodate a great number of vessels you can go on daily cruises with boats to beaches like Paliorema, Tsigarado and Kleftico. For those who love surpises, we suggest moving west and meeting some small diamonds of nature, like Sikia’s cave.
In addition to the natural beauties of the island, you should visit some important historical sights. At Filakopi, a village from the Neolithic season (2800 BC) you will see significant findings which connect the volcanic rock of obsidian with the story of Milos. Climbing up to the traditional village of Tripiti with the Cycladic windmills and within walking distance, you can admire the Ancient Theatre and Tumbes, an extremely important monument of early Christian times. In Klima village there are “sirmata”, traditional little houses with colourful wooden doors, where people used to keep their boats. Near there, scientists found the statue of “Venus of Milos”, known all over the world, which is currently kept in the Louvre Museum. At Adamandas village you can also visit the interesting Mining Museum of Milos. In the rooms of a modern museum the visitor is introduced to the geological and mining history of Milos and through impressive fossil exhibits one can learn details about the main source of economical and cultural prosperity of the island.
Before leaving Milos, taking the blue and white light with you, the warmth of the sun and sand and the breeze of sweet summer moments, do not forget to visit neighboring Kimolos island with a ferry that departs from Pollonia
