Rafting is called the river descent using a boat in which 6 to 10 people (maximum) can take part each time. One of the crew is the professional river guide (chief) who has the boat control and gives instructions. The rest paddle and enjoy the descent. The confrontation because of the speed of water is hard; therefore this activity requires physical strength, powerful actions and quick decisions. Necessary qualifications are: swimming, physical and mental health. The level of difficulty is depended by the season. For example, at spring the river water is more impulsive as the water quantity increases. As a result the descent is more difficult. When the level of difficulty is medium, participants must be over 12 years old. Also, they should have medium physical strength and swimming ability. When the level is higher (usually in spring and autumn) crew must have excellent physical strength and experience. Nevertheless, some of the routes are held throughout the year.

Try the most fascinating experience at Aoos and Voidomatis River. The area is full of nature (trees, animals) accompanied with rivers. Traditional, stone-arched bridges are everywhere. At Aoos River you will pass below the biggest, one-arched bridge in Greece. It is called Aoos Stone Bridge or "Architectural Miracle". Its length is 40 metres and its height is 20 metres. Voidomatis River has also a traditional Stone Bridge which you will find descending to Aristi village (Zagori). Apart from rafting, Konitsa is ideal destination for mountaineering, climbing, paragliding, mountain biking and 4x4 trucks.
