The accommodation is 2 kilometers away from the Port of Katapola and it offers free transport from the port and vice versa at the time of the arrival as well as of the departure. There is parking space and the bus station for the access to the whole island is right outside the accommodation.

ACTIVITIES IN THE AREA

Amorgos, the island of “Endless Blue”, is the eastern island of Cyclades and the 7th biggest island of the complex. It is a communication bridge to the Dodecanese, since it is located really close to Astypalaia. It is 121 square kilometers in area and the length of its coasts is equal to 112 kilometers. Its terrain is mountainous and craggy.

The wild beauty of its mountains, on the one hand, and the bright-green valleys, on the other hand, endow the island with a second to none beauty. The beaches of Amorgos stand out for many reasons, one of which is their cleanness. Their natural beauty in combination with the endless blue of the Aegean Sea refreshes the hot sands and waters the stiff rocks, producing in this way the ideal landscape for the getaway of the routine of the everyday lifestyle. Another characteristic of the island is that it has two natural ports. The first one is located in the bay of Katapola and the second one is located in Aigiali.

Amorgos, due to its geographical position, since it has been opposite Ionian cities (Ephesus, Halicarnassus, Milet), has been one of the first places where the Ionian tribes used to stopover on their way to Cyclades. The ruins of the three ancient cities, Arkesini, Aigiali and Minoa, reveal significant aspects of the historic course of the island. Similarly to all the islands of Cyclades, it has been through the occupancy of Venetian and Turkish conquerors and numerous pirate invasions as well. Despite the above, the island has maintained its identity and likewise the residents have maintained their special Cycladic culture. The latter is obvious, even nowadays, in the architectural structure of the municipal centre as well as of the villages, and in the lifestyle of the residents also. Being friendly and hearty, they welcome you to their homeland and do their best so that their visitors will have unforgettable holidays. This is the reason why the island attracts more visitors every year; because of its natural beauty, its historical-archaeological interest, its religious monuments, its options as far as amusement is concerned, and because of its walking paths.
