The Blue Aegean Hotel is situated in the resort of Gouves, 18 Kms east of the city of Heraklion, on the northeast coast of Crete, and 50 metres from beautiful sandy beach.

The Blue Aegean is designed specifically for families with children,and couples offering a wide range of hotel facilities combined with the convenience of self-catering apartments. Comprised of forty eight beautifully appointed apartments located in eight separate buildings, each named for an island of the Aegean Sea, the accommodation offers comfort and quality, space and style for your enjoyment.

ROOM SERVICES

Apartments

The Blue Aegean has 34 one-bedroomed, 4 two bedroomed apartments, 4 one bedroom bungalows and 2 two bedroom villa apartments, all with a lounge and kitchen area, bathroom, and balcony. Colour coordinated with delightful attractiveness, the apartments are modern, spacious and very comfortable. Each apartment is equipped with a microwave oven, electric cooking rings, kettle and teapots, fridge, full kitchen utensils, hairdryers, satellite TV, direct-line phone, bath with shower or shower room in apartments which are ideally suited for disabled guests. The electricity supply is 240v ac.

Each bungalow is equipped with electric cooking rings, kettle and teapots, fridge, full kitchen utensils, bath with shower. There are also two patios, one in the front and one at the rear, with sea view. The bungalows are situated in pretty gardens, in a quiet setting.

Air Conditioning and Safety Deposit Boxes are available in all accommodation for a small fee.

The Blue Aegean is comprised of eight buidings, each named for an island of the Aegean sea. The style and architechure is designed to reflect the beauty and simplicity of Greece, coupled with the practicality and safety neccessary for a most enjoyable holiday. This attractive aparthotel is built to very high standards and totally geared to provide the family a perfect holiday. The one bedroom apartments can accommodate 4 adults sharing and the two bedroom apartments provide ample rom to sleep up to 5 adults.

Maid Service

Your apartment is cleaned to the highest standards six days a week and linen changed twice a week.

The Blue Aegean staff take every effort to ensure the cleanliness of your apartment is maintained. The rooms have ample towels for your family and it is requested residents do not take the linen to the poolside or beach.

Electricity Supply

If you are travelling from the UK and plan to use electrical appliances in the hotel, remember the sockets in Crete are the European 2 pin type. It is recommended you bring a travel adapter to save the heartache.

INTERIOR FEATURES

Disabled guests

The Blue Aegean is designed to cater also for the needs of handicapped guests. Wheelchair ramps are situated throughout the main floor and grounds, there are also disabled facility toilets in the main building, plus four specifically designated ground floor apartments with special shower rooms equipped with wide outward opening doors and disabled WC facilities. Wheelchair ramps also mean convenience for pushchairs!

Lounge

The Blue Aegean accommodation offers comfort and quality, space and style for your enjoyment. English speaking receptionists are at your service 24 hours a day for information, money exchange etc. Our friendly and obliging staff will ensure your stay at the Blue Aegean is as enjoyable as possible. Our welcoming and stylish lounge provides television areas, reading corners and card tables amidst a friendly atmosphere and comfortable surroundings. Internet services and a lending library are also located here.

Gymnasium

The Blue Aegean accommodation offers comfort and quality, space and style for your enjoyment. During your stay at the Blue Aegean why not keep in tip top condition with our multi-gym, weights, cycles and top exercise equipment. The gymnasium is located downstairs in the Main Building.The Blue Aegean gymnasium offers a multitude of activities, whether you are a keen sports person, a fitness enthusiast, or just starting in the gym, it will help maintain a level of personal fitness to make you feel great afterwards.

Internet corner

In the Blue Aegean Internet Corner you can catch up on your emails, the latest information and send some holiday pictures back home. Head-sets, microphones and camera are also provided. Full services are available by using the Blue Aegean Internet Card which can be purchased from reception.

Massage room

An entertainment team at the Blue Aegean provide great entertainment and sports activities for your enjoyment. Pool games, volleyball on the nearby sandy beach, 'aquarobics', darts, pool matches and French boules to name a few.
Notice boards are situated downstairs in the main building to provide details of the entertainment and timings.

Games room

A spacious area with video games, a pool table, dart board and table tennis. The Games Room is open from morning 'til night, and is situated downstairs in the main building. Electronic games and billiards are operated with tokens available from Reception. Table tennis racquets and balls are available from reception for a small returnable deposit.

Laundry

The Blue Aegean accommodation offers comfort and quality, space and style for your enjoyment. During your stay, you may require laundry facilities. Washing machines are located downstairs in the Main Building. The machines take tokens which are available from reception.

Main building

The Main Building is comprised of the reception, comfortable lounges and television areas, an Internet Corner, Restaurant and Pizza Oven, Bars and Sun Terraces. In addition you will find the ''Childrens' Den'' mini-club and Nursery, a Games Room and Table-Tennis, children's toilets, check-out room with showers, library, and Mini Market.

Mini club

A fun-filled playroom for children operates under the supervision of fully trained children's reps, offering an action-packed holiday for kids; and peace of mind for mums and dads! The clubs are aimed at giving the whole family the best holiday imaginable, with organised activities to keep all ages of kids happy throughout the day, giving the adults, the time to relax and soak up the Mediterranean sun. Each club runs 6 days a week.
The clubs are designed for various age groups from tiny tots to the teens. Each group will have a fun-filled time, brimming with things to do and often received free T-shirts and memorabilia. The stimulating entertainment often runs in early evening to allow parents to have an enjoyable meal in the Blue Aegean restaurant.

Nursery

For babies and toddlers, the nursery is a safe and happy place to play. Also under the expert supervision of a qualified nanny, the nursery is fully equipped with suitable play things and has a nappy-changing facility.

EXTERIOR FEATURES

Aegean bar

Offering a full range of drinks, snacks, cocktails, ice-cream, coffee and tea all day long. The Aegean Bar is a popular venue, and is open all day from 8 am. Selected happy-hour's serving all alcoholic drinks at 50% discount, help you start off your holiday evening entertainment.

Swimming pool and gardens

The swimming pool, lawns and gardens offer an oasis of relaxation and are designed with your enjoyment and safety in mind. There is also a paddling pool (depth 45cm) for our smallest guests and a fully equipped playground.

Karaoke evening

At the Blue Aegean you will enjoy the time letting your hair down, enacting your favourite pop or music stars. Maybe you can sing in the warm Mediterranean night to the words "I did it my way" and it will be your way too. Music and lyrics are provided, a great night for all the family. Be a star for the evening and sing away to your hearts content.

Entertainment

At the Blue Aegean you will enjoy a full and varied programme of daytime and evening entertainment, including a traditional Cretan Evening and Barbecue, Quiz Night, Family Bingo, Magic Show, Karaoke, Water Polo and a daily Children's Disco. A happy atmosphere and friendly service are guaranteed to make your holiday unforgettable!

Wining and dining

Our a la carte restaurant offers a wide range of dishes, including traditional English Breakfast, Greek Meze, Italian Cuisine and International favourites.

Set in shady comfort overlooking the pool, it is the perfect setting to enjoy your meal. The Blue Aegean chef specialities, enable you to taste the local delicious food. You have a great choice available and the meals are invigorated by the friendly and efficient service. You will certainly enjoy the meals on offer.

Children's special requests, (fussy eaters) and dietary requirements are catered for with pleasure. The meals are excellent value. Children's seating and baby highchairs are available too.

You may also sample authentic Pizza from our wood-fired oven and delicious meat and fish from the charcoal grill. Many specialities are served throughout your stay at the Blue Aegean.

7 DAYS MEAL DEAL

Although the Blue Aegean accommodation is primarily a self-catering, we are pleased to offer a seven day meal package which provides a varied menu, flexible meal times, and more importantly, GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY. Each member of the family will receive:

Cretan evening

At the Blue Aegean you will enjoy an evening barbecue cooked on the charcoals followed by lively entertainment from traditional Cretan dancers. The dancers, dressed in local costume, will provide energetic routines and will encourage the visitor to learn some traditional foot steps. A happy and enjoyable atmosphere is guaranteed to make your holiday memories unforgettable!
